When packing for a family trip to the beach, you definitely don't want to forget anything!! For me, creating a list of items to bring is essential.  When I do this, I make sure to include the following:

-a blanket like this cute one from Wild Sunshine Threads
-a matching towel x2
-a wet bag like this +SkipHopNYC one ((for wet suits))
-friendly Sunscreen like this +Babyganics one
-Sunnies like these +Ray-Ban
-an iphone charger ((cuz I take a billion pics!))
-bucket & shovel x2
-dry diapers ((if you have a diapered child))
-swim diapers
-a bag that is easily cleaned like this +Target beach bag
-shoes kids can walk on sand in. I use Crocs for my kiddos.
-snacks that don't spoil like Goldfish
-change of clothes for kiddos x2
-sippy cups with agua ((see our top sippy cup pics here))

Can we take a minute and talk about this bag?  It is by Mossimo and only $10!  I used to have a woven basket bag but it kept poking me and it was so uncomfortable when it was full.  This bag is effective and it matches my favorite beach/park blanket.

I tend to wear a swim suit underneath a dress so I can change easily.  I usually don't get too wet so it just becomes unnecessary to carry more.  For me, I bring healthy snack bars, change for a meter, my iphone, a bottle of water and patience.  LOL!  It can be overwhelming heading back to the car with all the sandy butts.  I use sunblock and SPF my face too.  I usually rock a braid since ocean hair is not my friend.  I really like to just bring the bare minimum.  I hate having to tow tons of toys, food and mas cosas.
