Have you ever been so excited to try a pinterest idea only to have it fail horribly?  I know, its such a let down.  I recently tried the DIY minimalistic wrapping paper with a handmade potato stamp that was the worst idea ever!  But, it lead to this wonderful idea that worked so perfectly I just had to share!

I really dislike buying wrapping paper because its too busy and it rips easy.  I did a DIY last year that made me feel creative and festive and I wanted to re-create that feeling again.  You can find last years cute ornament DIY featuring my daughter by clicking here.
This year, I thought about all the ways I could decorate paper for wrapping and I found this tutorial on Pinterest.  It was a stamp made from a potato that you cut in half then proceed to cut a shape from the middle of the potato.  Finally, you would dip that potato in ink and ta-da, a perfect personalized package! But the potato is extremely hard to cut straight and the moisture made it impossible for the ink to stick.  Then I remembered that I saw a batman jumbo eraser from Target and a giant light bulb went off in my brain!  I sliced a few chunks away and it made the perfect tree shape.

Here's what you will need to recreate this wrapping paper:

-You might also want to use an X-acto knife to cut with precision.  You don't want your Christmas tree to look like a Christmas bush.

Step 1
Find a jumbo eraser.  I found one literally this week at Target in the dollar aisle for, you guessed it, a whole $1.  Grab the rest of the supplies: X-acto knife, scissors, stamp pad, cute holiday tape and craft paper.  I got all mine at Michaels Craft stores.

Step 2
Cut a shape out of the eraser.  I cut a tree because it's a fairly easy shape.  You could do ginger bread man, snow man, a bell, etc. Something easy!  Place it inside the ink and press down firmly.  Apply it to the roll of plain paper.  **You will want to do this on a flat surface before you wrap anything.  I wrapped the last gift and then tried stamping the gift (cuz ya girl got lazy) and it didn't adhere properly. **

Step 3
