How to Transition your wardrobe from Summer to Fall when It's still hot

Fashion is six months ahead so really this article is completely useless LOL.  But you might be like me, feeling like you are constantly playing catch up all the time.  Wasn't it just summer?  Did you finally make the splurge on that woven, basket-bag that you were swooning over for the last month?  Yeah, I feel you 100%.  That's why seasonal wardrobe needs to be carefully thought out.  Gone are the days of just buying it because "it's cute".  Lets focus on how to prep for the season especially when it's sooooo not fall-like outside.

The easiest way to prep for a season is shopping or pulling from your closet, clothes that reflect the seasons color palette.  The hues vary from year to year but if you aren't quite positive what they are, you can stick with earth tones or you can visit pantone.com to take a peek at what's runway worthy.  I personally, pick one or two colors that mesh well and stick to those as I slowly add pieces here and there.

This hasn't always been my strategy however.  As soon as labor day was over, I'd typically reach for the nearest sweater, pretend I'm not sweaty AF, sip my hotter-than-hot pumpkin drink while simultaneously doing a rain dance to conjure some brisk air.  Now, I buy fall appropriate colors in dresses, button ups, light jackets and easy transitional clothes.  Besides, in LA, it doesn't get to being fall until winter.  So if you reside in a hot area, you got yourself some time!

My dress is the third item from above.  As you may notice, it's a red pear color and not so much a brown color as in my photos.  I typically make my photos a sepia tone so the browns are more enhanced.  I also just recently added the brown sweater (first brown sweater above) to my closet too!  Right now, I'm focusing on the red pear hue, denim hues and creams because I always have room for creams.
