It’s not often we can all get together with our family for dinner. So when we do, we make sure to do it right. This year, we hosted Turkey day in our backyard. We live in the city of Los Angeles so we had to “make a fall happen.” 😉 For those of you who don’t know, LA is still pretty warm, even in fall.
The table was minimally decorated with herbs, eucalyptus branches, candles and pinecones. We cooked up a storm, shared what we were thankful for and said a prayer before feasting. My husband had the biggest plate which was, of course, photo worthy. The kids played under the table and Penelope even took a few laps around la mesa after her dinner.
We shared stories into the night with one wine toast to the new baby coming in January. As it grew chillier we broke out the blankets and the kids wore their sweaters. Coffee was passed around with some pie and baked goods too.
The evening was perfect and felt never ending. One thing is for sure, we all created memories that will be shared through the years to come. We missed a few people for dinner but God is good and he is in everything. The glow of the night transitioned to the glow found in all our hearts. I hope you take a peek & enjoy our City Holiday Dinner.
I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving! Thank you for taking the time in this busy Holiday season.
