Sore feet, tired babies and stressful traffic. Was it worth it? Yes. Every. Single. Minute. Our Disneyland trip was ahh-mazing! Thanks to +KOST1035 ((and my nimble dialing fingers)),
the family four pack of tickets was ours after I was announced the winner the day before Thanksgiving. Lets just say, I had a lot to be thankful for this year. I had won and I could not contain my excitement for 10 straight minutes behind the wheel of my Prius. We planned a day to go, cleared our schedules and journeyed our way to Anaheim.
First, we stopped to take pics in front of snow whites castle. Who am I kidding, it was more like a photo shoot. After seeing a small band play, we moved in to Toon town but not before a pretzel break ((in the shape of Mickey Mouse of course!)) After lunch we waited for a parade while the babes doused each other in bubbles. For quite some time, Penelope sported a bubble crown nestled in her tiny curls. The kids eyes nearly popped out of their heads when Santa came down the crowded streets shouting “Ho-Ho-Ho!” Penelope waved passionately to Minnie Mouse and just about every other character that passed by, while Ace was frozen with awe. My favorite part was seeing the pure joy radiating from Ace and Penelope’s faces. The end of the night was topped off with churros and a visit to It’s a small world to see the Christmas lights. Our day was over. Another successful visit for the books!
☋ These are the memories that we will cherish. ☋
It’s funny how in the past, the rides were my thing and now its the complete opposite. Now, its all about the shows, parades and food! As a non-parent, I never went to fairy tale town and skipped Toon Town entirely. Parades were a good time to get in short lines while all the families watched the fireworks. But what is Disneyland without the enchanted castle or It’s a small world? My life as a single woman was one ride after the next. Rushing through life seemed fitting at twenty-something. It wasn’t until my children showed me that we need to slow down and see the magic that is Disney.. The magic That is life.
Someday when they are older, we will ride all the rides, visit both parks and stay till closing. I will tell them about this day and then gush about how THEY showed ME the real Disneyland.
Have you ever been to Disneyland for the Holidays?
