How can you appear cool and chic this Summer? With effortless style, dainty accessories and casual footwear of course! One fun trend I’m lovin is the scalloped hem’s I’ve been seeing everywhere. What I love about them, is the polish it can add to any outfit. We all know, little details can do so much for an otherwise basic outfit. And I’m not a basic Mom. 😆
But you don’t have to be a Mom to shed some #ootd inspiration! Karen from For All Things Pretty also joins me on our quest to ring in Summer style. Karen’s a big time beach lover so we headed to Seal Beach to scope out some flores in their natural habitat, chat about blogging and let our husbands catch up. The kids love the beach so I’m thinking of stashing a ready-to-go beach bag full of goodies since we make frequent trips during the summer. Penny’s tropical swimsuit is giving me major wanderlust.↴
When I make a trip out to la playa, the first thing I think about is comfort. Being a Mom means being able to be comfortable so I threw on some sandals and used my super cute Doen straw bag to carry small items. ((Remember, I’m finally done with diapers!!)) I used a blouse from last season and tucked it in. I wanted to be able to showcase the adorable tie waist on these H&M shorts. Lastly, I pulled in all together with some dainty jewelry.
Karen chose to go with a deep blue velvet skirt with button up detail. Her blouse (which also showcases her shoulders) has a pretty crochet pattern. She loves dainty jewelry and has the prettiest pieces. Visit forallthingspretty.com to see more of her take on scalloped hems and see what mystical creature it reminds her of. 🐟

Yes, you can even DIY your own! If you sew, I suggest this one by Blog Colette. Otherwise, I have found some great shorts all under $45. Mix and match them with similar prints, denim, and casual white tee’s. There’s endless combos you can put together so go on and create a new look. Hashtag #momjeansandmimosas so I can see too! Don’t forget to say hi! 💬
