Low-key, I always feel like Audrey Hepburn re-applying my lipstick after dinner. If only I had something witty to say while doing it but I’m usually in a food coma trying to find a way to distract my kids while they dip under the table out of pure “curiosity.”
Finally a new beauty post right? I’m slowly starting to incorporate beauty back into my blog with an emphasis on skin care. But today I wanted to share these lippies I received from Influenster’s recent voxbox. I love drugstore beauty because of the small price tag and the availability. If it’s on the shelves of Target, its more than likely on my shelves too.
L’Oreal’s new Colour Riche Matte Lipstick’s are bold, packed with pigment and are very creamy. I typically don’t shop for L’Oreal products especially for lipsticks but these are surprisingly good! I am a MAC lipstick girl so you know these lipsticks have to stand out. They are build able, affordable and creamy. They don’t last as long as I’d like but I always carry around my lipstick for touch ups after dinner.
802– Matte-sterpiece
402– Blake’s Red
804– He thinks he’s Matte-cho
Firstly, don’t you just love those names? There’s also Matte-stermind, Matte-ing call and in Matte-uated with you just to name a few. Aside from that, these colors are packed in pretty packaging adorned with gold trim. They go on creamy and for a drugstore lipstick, they are pigmented to perfection. I wasn’t however impressed with all the colors. The “Matte-cho” one is a bit muddy and I think I would try it over a base nude to really create a depth to the mundane color. I really like the Blake’s red and would suggest starting with it if you want to try these new lip colors. A red lip is always a yes in my book!
Here I am in Cancun wearing “blake’s Red” at dinner. I also used the lip liner to line my upper and bottom lip before actually filling them in with the lipstick. ↓
These must-haves for fall run about $9 at drugstores but I think in comparison to my MAC lipsticks, they are a very close runner up! Keep L’Oreal in mind next time you need a lipstick ((and would also like to buy a latte.)) Remember that it’s half of what you would pay if you walked into MAC… Speaking of Latte’s, I’m off to get my coffee with my mini tribe. Catch you on the next outfit post! Thanks for reading!
