The social and economic achievements of American workers, aka Labor Day is the first Monday of September and marks the national end point of summer fashion. Apparently, there were several snobs after the cival war who wanted, as Drake would say, no new friends…
People were climbing the social ladder from poverty to millionaire and the OG’s were throwing shade at new money. So to keep their circles tight they put into affect a few “mean girls” rules. Like, “don’t wear white after Labor Day or you can’t sit with us”…Well, that’s like, so not totally fetch. I for one, love wearing white. All. Year. Long.
My white Amita Naithani dresses have been on rotation in my closet because they are effortless, gorgeous looking and keep me cool on these HOT days. Especially recently. It’s been hot, hot, HOT! The prints and cutouts remind me of my recent vacation to Cancun and give me all the summer feels. But that doesn’t mean that I should pack them away when fall comes.
Fall is an interesting and fun time of year where we welcome pumpkin spice lattes even when its 90 degrees and start picking transitional pieces for our wardrobe. Personally, I pair my white with other seasonal trends like:
- Shades of nudes, olives and tans
- Moody Florals in rich fall palettes
- Menswear (DUH)
- Cutouts showing slivers or slashes of skin
- Ruffles Frills and everything romance
So essentially, I bring summer into fall. And there’s a special title for it… SUMMALL! So as I say goodbye to summer fashion, I welcome the challenge of putting together outfits with a fun twist. For instance, for this look (from my Insta) I paired my dress with a denim jacket and some rich colored sock heels. Take a peek below at my latest trip and how I used this resort wear line to stay comfortable in the Cancun heat.
PS: They are having a sale! 30% off and free shipping with code LABORDAY
Are you looking forward to Summall? Will you be one of the many in line for a pumpkin spice Latte tomorrow at Starbucks? I might actually go, I’m not gonna lie. Keep checking back because I intend on using my Amita Naithani dresses well in to fall! To see what I picked from Amita, click here!
