Batman, Blocks and Brainy puzzles are what fuel my 5 year old boy. This season, I did a lot of searching for him and found a number of great gifts that are sure to move me in to the cool-Mom category. Except, all the credit will be given to Santa who did absolutely nothing this Christmas. Tell me again why we pay tribute to Santa every year? I’m so close to dropping “the news” just so I can get a sorrowing cuddle and more appreciation for all the online exercise I do.

There’s a great number of want vs. need when it comes to gift giving. I personally don’t give clothing to Ace because hes not into clothes like Penelope is. So, I abide by these three questions when shopping for him:
☑ Is it going to fall apart?
☑ Does it help him learn?
☑ Is it practical?
That’s why my list totally rocks. I’ve seamlessly blended ultra cool items to look like toys while simultaneously allowing him to learn and explore. I have already purchased him a scooter from Target’s black Friday sale but a few of these highly rated toys will surly bring a smile to his (or any other 5 year old’s) face.
Since the gift-giving holiday falls on a Monday, many retailers have pushed up their deadlines a day or two, which leaves less time for last-minute shopping online. Below I’ve listed a few dates that you might want to keep in mind or refer to later in your “Oh my God, I need to ship” panic.

I hope you find something for your little one that is both special and well thought out. I love giving especially to my children. It really is a magical time of year! Until next time,
