holidays are officially over but winter has just begun. It’s that
time again when I turn my focus from shopping for gifts, to shopping for skin
care. During the winter months, your skin is put through so much stress,
and neglecting the issue can only enhance troubled areas. Like
your armpits (to name two). That’s why I’m super excited to be partnering
with Dove to share a
few tips on how to take better care of your skin during the winter months using
Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant.
When I thought
of my armpits, I used to think of only one thing: How to keep moisture out
(even though this sort of thinking can be detrimental in the long run).
We are so concentrated on anti-sweat, that we sometimes forget that all
are skin needs to be moisturized. Not just our face before bed. But
don’t worry, I was guilty of this too until I did some homework. Turns
out, Dove Advanced Care provides 48-hour odor and wetness protection, plus
added skin care benefits for softer, smoother underarms. It’s almost too
much to grasp when all I was asking for was not to be “sweaty.”
Below you will find my Tips on Treating and Caring for Winter Skin with guidance from Dove’s very own Dermatoligist, Dr. Alicia Barba.
Treating and Caring for Winter Skin
Parts: How many times have you got out of the shower only to grab your
towel and run to the closet getting dressed and moisturizing just your face?
I’m super guilty of this especially in the colder months because It’s just.
That. Cold. And being a Mom means literally doing everything
quickly… Even using the bathroom. But moisturizing all your body
is essential to adding that “extra coat of protection” for seasonal
changes. You wouldn’t go outside without a coat to protect you right? So,
make sure all your skin is covered with a good layer of moisture.
Your body will thank you come bikini season!
As always, I can’t have a post without stressing the importance of
drinking lots of water! For the New Year, grab a cute water bottle to
help you remember to gulp-gulp.
all: I never used to get facials until my sister-in-law got me one for my
birthday. Now, to maintain optimal skincare, I book a facial every
season. That’s 4 times a year. I know that can be hard to do, so
visiting twice a year (like once in winter and once in spring) is great too.
And if you’ve fallen behind, you can always do an at-home sesh with
drugstore masks and scrubs. Just try not to exfoliate too often.
You won’t want to dehydrate the skin.
Detox from the
inside: This one I truly enjoy. Once it’s cold I can’t get enough
of hot drinks. Green Tea being one of my favorites. It improves
your skin’s complexion, makes your skin healthy and helps flush out toxins.
This makes it one of my key elements in skin care during the winter. Two
cups a day can really make a difference.
Underarm’s need Love too: Often times, we overlook our armpits
which can cause a number of issues in the winter. Rough fabrics in
sweaters can irritate your armpits if your skin isn’t protected. I
personally suffer from random itchy pits that become inflamed post-shaving. Using Dove’s
Advanced Care Caring Coconut Antiperspirant has soothed the area and improved
the overall appearance of my skin. It feels soft when applied and the
smell is a delicate touch of coconut. It’s just what you need to start
your day right and with 48 hour protection, you can take it to bed which is
where I tend to sweat the most.
