The hubby and I have been practicing being more verbal after finding out our Love Language’s. I’m a “words of affirmation” kinda girl. That’s why when he told me that my skin looked poreless as he stared at me sleeping, I was immediately pleased and embarrassed all at once. Turns out my pores are tightening due to my Clarins’ Pore Control serum. It also turns out I made a drool-pool the size of Lake Michigan on my pillow. Ugh, well lets focus on the pore part for the remainder of this bog shall we?

Everything you need to know about serums
What is a serum? Face serums are lightweight, highly concentrated formulas. They penetrate deep into your skin (unlike your standard moisturizer) delivering active ingredients and targeting specific skin concerns. A daily serum can give your skin a firmer, smoother texture, make pores appear smaller and increase moisture levels.
What serum should you use? Whether you’re looking to minimize pores, diminish dark spots, or defeat fine lines there’s a specific serum for that. If you don’t know which one to chose, Clarins offers a quiz to find your serum match. You can find that by clicking here.
Should I replace my moisturizer with serum? Serums are not meant to replace your moisturizer, but they can boost the hydrating and nourishing effects of it.
When do I use it? You might recall me sharing my best order for skincare on the blog
recently (featuring the Clarins Pore Control) highlighting when to apply it. You can apply serum mornings and nights after toning and before applying your daily moisturizer.
How do I apply it? First, open your pores by either a warm towel or after your shower. This enables the product to seem in to skin defectively. Then “warm” a pump of the product in between your hands. Apply it by pressing gently into the face. Don’t pull, rub or stretch the product across your skin, as this can be damaging over time. Lastly, stimulate lymphatic drainage from the face by repeating this pressing motion. You can also watch this instructional video by clicking here.
Has it worked for my skin? Yes! I was seeing results and so was my husband after only 2 weeks however you should see full results in 28 days.
I typically try out a slew of products within a year and if I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be the Clarins Pore Control serum. It is one of the first products that clearly states what it does right there on the bottle and actually does it!! Please note, the photos were taken without any makeup to show my skin. I wanted to capture what this product was actually doing to my face. As you can see, I still have pores but they are very small! I also have an evenness to my skin that wasn’t there before.
I was so happy to partner with such an amazing brand to bring you this beauty knowledge. I really hope you enjoyed reading along and make sure you check out Clarins for all your serum needs. It truly was the one beauty product that was missing from my routine. Stay tuned for more Clarins serum reviews this year on Mom Jeans & Mimosas. Let me know below which one you would pick!
