Shea is hand farmed by women in villages across Northern Ghana. By indulging your skin with super-rich Shea Butter you are helping to support Ghanian communities. It’s a win-win and also a must share.
Their iconic Community Trade Shea Butter (in its purest form) has been carefully whipped to create a creamy, melting texture. It has been expertly handcrafted by Ghanaian women, who have used shea butter to nourish dry skin and hair for generations. This moisturizing, multi-purpose butter can be used on the body, hair, face and lips, inspired by Ghanaian women’s traditional beauty rituals. How cool is that!
#1 HAND TREATMENT
what you need: shea butter, moisture gloves
After washing or exfoliating your hands, massage all over with a small amount of shea butter. Next, put on a pair of moisture gloves. For very dry and sensitive hands, keep the gloves on overnight. If you can t wait, put rubber gloves on over your moisture gloves and leave on for 10-20 minutes. Afterwards, your hands will feel soft and intensely nourished.
#2 SHOWER CREAM FOR DRY SKIN
Mix three parts shower cleanser with on part she butter in your palms. I recommend the Body Shop’s Olive or Wild Argan Oil Shower Gel or Almond Milk & Honey Shower Cream. You could also use British Rose Petal-Soft Bath Foam or Wild Argan Oil Bubbling Bath. This is ideal if you suffer from very dry skin or if your skin is shedding dead skin cells due to seasonal changes.
#3 HAIR TREATMENT
What you need: shea butter, Coconut Oil Brilliantly Nourishing Pre-Shampoo Hair Oil
Mix one part shea butter with three parts of the Body Shop’s coconut Oil Brilliantly Nourishing Pre-Shampoo hair oil. Apply as a daily protecting and styling treatment or as an overnight treatment.
For the night treatment, simply massage a small amount of this mixture onto your whole head or just onto split ends. I think this depends on your hair type, texture and whether it will get oily fast or not. Wrap your hair in a towel or put on a shower cap and wear overnight. It will soften and nourish brittle and damaged hair. This is a treatment for dry, very dry and curly hair and will hep give it shine and nourishment.
#4 LIP BALM AND SCRUB
With a soft tooth brush or the body shops facial brush, gently exfoliate your lips. You can also exfoliate your lips by mixing one teaspoon of sugar with on teaspoon of shea butter util it becomes a paste. Next, apply the shea butter onto your lips and massage in using circular motions. Repeat when needed. It’s perfect for dry skin.
