2020 is the year! It is either you go daring or play it safe with your hairstyle choices. Whether you want to go for long, voluptuous tresses or exciting short bobs; it is all about how you confidently walk with it. For myself, shorter is better. It brings out all the sass n class in me. It’s been THE #1 most talked about topic on MJ&M and today I’m sharing all the deets from who cuts it to what products I use (some faithfully) and how you can keep your strands super healthy and happy too!
1.Health
First, you have to make sure your taking care of your hair from the inside, out. Do you have an everyday multi? If so, go ahead and add a hair vitamin to that mix to get some extra vitamins. I really like using the HAIRtamin vitamins because they make vegan vitamins and also recently came out with a gummy version. These gummies taste like a fruit snack and have no funny after taste! If your not sure what vitamins you need for your hair, no problem! The HAIRtamin gals got us all covered with Biotin, Folate, Zinc and B5 which is one I recently learned about. It’s helps rebuild individual hair shafts while strengthening them.
All my products will be linked so you can shop the look below! + watch my latest hair curling video here.
2.Cleaning & Treatments
You also need to make sure you aren’t damaging your hair over and over. Take this quarantine time to reset your head with extra treatments like The Body Shop’s Hair treatment masks. May I suggest my FAV, the Shea Butter Hair Mask? Made with Shea butter from Ghana and handcrafted by women who have used shea butter to intensely nourish dry hair for generations, this ULTRA hydrating mask will heal your hair along with proper care (aka lay off the hot iron!) I also favor the banana hair mask from The Body Shop because it smells like bananas but it also does an amazing job at making your hair less frizzy and more shiny. You only use it once a week + its on sale for 30% off! I suggest these two because I’ve tried so many products from the Body Shop and these were memorable. Typically, you only need to mask once or twice a week as long as your Poo’s are doing their job as well.
I’m a shampoo and conditioner junky! I shouldn’t even give out advice because I’m always trying new things. Right now I’m into this Sebastian dark oil set (which I talked about on the IGTV video I posted about my hair.) I tend to use sets that are on the salon end of the spectrum because I know they aren’t going to dry my strands like the Coachella valley in April. This set was gifted to me and came with another hair mask made with the essentials like jojoba and aragon which are both necessary for hair health and growth. My husband loves this collection and honestly, it’s kind of made with guys in mind. It could be a set that you and your man both use.
Another must mention is my JOON hair elixir. Made with saffron, pistachio and rose, this hair oil with protect your strands during a blowout and leave your hair soft and shiny. This is my HOLY grail for hair care. I even use it on my daughters hair to add a coat of shine and did I mention it smells amazing?
3.Trim & Cut
The many cuts and styles of my LOB. My hair is currently a LOB with a fringe bang. I get most of my inspiration from Pinterest. You can take a peek at my board here.
It’s so important to trim in order to maintain healthy soft locks.
