Okay, when I first got this coat I wore it once for NYE. I thought, “fur coat means dress-up” and anything other than that was a no fly zone. So I stashed it in the closet only to stare at it, hanging in all its glory. But what good is a gorgeous jacket if it just sits there? I kicked myself for not taking it to New York several years back. A fur in New York in February? Sounds like a love song to me. I left it at home because I was absolutely bonkers and thought with my petite frame, I could never pull it off. But it wasn’t till I started experimenting with my closet and pushing the boundaries that I found several uses for it. This Post is updated by the way per my throwback Thursday ritual. 🙂
I know buying a fur coat is not like buying a tee so may I suggest shopping at vintage stores or consignment stores like +CrossroadsTrading. You might also want to check your Mom’s closet to see if she has a coveted fur. Right now, most coats go on sale so you can find a great fur for less than $125. I have linked a few below if you don’t want to spend time searching for a decent jacket.
And before I begin, my coat is faux fur and is 100% acrylic.
This is what I came up with:
✔A fur with a maxi dress via Closet of Clothes
✔with faux leather & chucks via Magdalena
✔as a cape just draped over the shoulders via the Zoe report
✔with a simple slip dress and heels via tour de stfu
✔with ripped denim and suede boots like me!
I wore this to the store after we shot BTW. 😊 You wouldn’t believe how many uses I have made out of this cami I found at H&M. It’s very flattering on smaller chests like mine. It looks like sleepwear which is a sexy trend to carry out to the streets. The carmar denim I found at the LF sale ((find out more by following them on insta!)) for $68 when originally they were $238. These jeans are high rise fit and straight leg. Just what this mama needs. The high rise helps to hide my Momma belly + 100% cotton means no stretch so its all nice and tight in there. And my favorite boots were also on sale! These babies are 100% suede!
I love this ensemble because it makes me feel pretty and fierce. I never thought I could wear something like this after becoming a Mom but now there’s no turning back. I can be a nurturing Mother and have it all. Even if this is all I have, it’s all I will ever need. Confidence CAN be made with an outfit…

Shop these faux furs RN. Most are on sale!!
I adore having a fur and knowing that no animal was hurt during the making. Mango, (where most the coats I listed are) is in Barcelona and has stopped using and banned exotic animal skins and fur. That just makes me feel great! Hope you loved this throwback post! xo
