I don’t like to promote consumerism but I really want to share this dress I was given from FRNCH. You see, my closet is rather small. I pride myself on having just a portion of clothing and wearing pieces I like a lot. This dress is one of them. When the seasons change, we are bombarded with content and fast fashion that only contribute to our gluttonous bad habits. Fashion is a killer market and most garments are discarded in landfills. There is however a silver lining. We can curb these habits by buying less and investing in quality pieces… like this well made dress.
I also want to add that I shot these images by myself. I was so hesitant to do so, but I had no choice since my helpers are only available certain days. Instead of putting it off, I gave it a try. I have a few tips to doing this.
- Be in an area that is safe. Parking garages proved to be dangerous so I stopped going. Don’t put yourself at risk just for a picture. These images were taken right next to an open parking lot with park rangers just a few feet away.
- Go early in the morning to avoid large crowds that will stare.
- Ignore the people!! They will stare anyways but you are brave and creative!
- If you are using a DSLR get a budget friendly tripod like this or if you are an iphone user, use a clicker like this.
The dress is by FRNCH and you can find it here. I paired the dress with a cute sandal that is sturdy as heck. I got these ones at H&M because I know they will last a while given their texture. I could not find them online for some reason but I’m putting together a post all about H&M’s current slides because they are so minimal and stylish. I also have had this basket bag for four years now! It’s from Doen. That’s a great investment piece that you can use for many seasons + its from a small shop so that’s always a plus! It’s no longer available but there are plenty of basket bags over on Tres Vu + there’s still a Mother’s day sale going on. You can shop by clicking here.
If you are a new face on my Instagram then you will see that I got a new book this week that I highly suggest especially if you are going through heartbreak or loss. You can find out more about it here and watch my Instagram stories here. I’m thinking about doing a daily reading from the book. It’s got so many gems in it!
I hope you enjoyed this post! Stay tuned for more outfit posts and Father’s day posts!
